Mass Communications: Clendinen Virtual Reading Room

A guide with links to mass communications-related web sites and databases. Databases are accessible only by USF students, faculty, and staff.

Welcome to the Clendinen Virtual Reading Room, named in honor of the late James A. Clendinen, former editor of the Tampa Tribune. The Clendinen Virtual Reading Room offers online access to World Wide Web resources and proprietary databases related to the study of mass communications. Access to the databases is restricted to University of South Florida faculty, students and staff.  The Virtual Reading Room was created and is maintained by the USF Libraries as a resource center for the USF School of Mass Communications. It serves as a complement to the physical reading room (pictured at left) located in the Communication and Information Sciences building on the USF Tampa Campus.

The look of the Clendinen Virtual Reading Room changed in 2009 when USF went to a new open-source content management system. Use the tabs at the top to navigate through the different subject areas. For additional databases, as well as selected print resources related to mass communications, see the tab "Mass Communications Guide."
