Welcome to Critical Perspectives in Contemporary Art

This guide is intended to direct you to important library resources when doing reseaerch for your class, Critical Perspectives in Contemporary Art.

Research Check-List

Think about your topic.  Brainstorm with yourself!  What are some possible subject terms you could use to search for resources about your topic?  Try them.  Review your results.  Are you finding what you need?

Here is a basic check-list of "things to do" when conducting research:

  • Search USF Libraries Catalog
Look here for books, journals, media and other materials to identify if the library has materials about your topic.
  • Search the Art & Art History databases
Identify and search appropriate Art & Art History databases for your topic.
  • Search WorldCat
Search WorldCat to identify additional resources owned by other libraries that may be useful for your research.
  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL): How to Get Materials USF Does Not Own
Use ILL to borrow materials you have identified as important for your research, USF does not own and is available to borrow from another library.
  • Go to the Writing Center
The Writing Center offers assistance to any student who wants to improve his or her writing skills. It is a place for writers of all skill levels to take chances, ask questions, and further develop their writing abilities.
