Distance Learners

How do I get a book?

As an online or distance learner, you are able to search our library catalog, which gives you access to multiple catalogs, and the WorldCat catalog for books that you need for your research. In addition, you can request that books and articles be sent to your home address. Articles will be sent electronically while books from the Tampa Campus Library will be sent by U.S. Mail to you directly. You must sign up for Interlibrary Loan (Illiad), and send your requests for materials through ILLIAD. Please make sure you identify yourself as a distance learner in your ILLIAD Profile.

Books that are not in the USF library system must be requested from a library closest to you since you must pick up the book in person.  Most libraries in Florida have Interlibrary Loan Services at no charge for books.
