Building Collections for the USF Tampa Library

At University of South Florida, Tampa Library, building library collections is a collaborative endeavor between librarians and faculty. The Subject Librarians, working in collaboration with the Departmental Faculty Representatives, will forward the faculty's recommendations for new materials to Acquisitions. The budget each fiscal year will vary, so new materials can be purchased, as funding permits.

Click on the appropriate College tab at the top of the page to access the contact information for your subject librarian, the faculty representative from your department, and the Collection Development Policy for your discipline.

For additional information, please email Cheryl McCoy, Coordinator of Collections, or contact the Collection Development office (LIB 015) at 813-974-3530 during regular business hours, 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday

Suggest a Purchase

Subject librarians can assist you with the purchase of new materials.  If you are searching for hard-to-find research materials or if you have a list of resources that are needed for your research, the subject librarians can help!   Just click on the tab for your college at the top of the page to locate the contact information for the subject librarian for your department.

The library has limited funds and may require a priority list of titles, so that purchases can be made in stages.  The subject librarian for your department can assist you with this process.

Suggestions for the purchase of an individual titles can be sent to either Cheryl McCoy, Coordinator of Collections for the USF Tampa Library or John Abresch, Acquisitions Librarian for the USF Tampa Library.
