Distance Learners

A guide for students enrolled in online or off-campus courses at USF

Introduction

Welcome to the USF Libraries Guide for students enrolled in online or off-campus courses at USF. Distance learners  have access to thousands of online books, articles, and other types of electronic resources, along with support from librarians who can answer their questions about best practices for research. The USF Libraries subscribe to numerous online databases and search tools that are available to all our students.

This guide provides basic information for accessing and searching the Libraries' resources. For more specific information, see our complete list of subject and course guides at http://guides.lib.usf.edu/ .

Connecting from Off-Campus

Since most of the research databases provided by the libraries are licensed only for the use of USF users, anyone trying to gain access from off-campus must identify themselves as a USF student. Authentication is easy and is done through your MyUSF account.

  1. Log in to your MyUSF account.
  2. Click on the 'Learning and Teaching Tools' menu item.
  3. Click on 'Library Services' in the drop-down list.

You will then go to the Libraries Home Page. From there you can search the catalog or link to the database list or research guides.
