USF Health Libraries: Coronavirus Response

  • Is the library open?

Shimberg Library & Florida Blue Health Knowledge Exchange's doors are closed but our services are still available!

  • Is the 24/7 Space open?

No, the 24/7 space is not open at this time.

  • Can I still meet with a librarian?

Yes! Submit quick questions through Ask-a-Librarian. For help with a research question or getting library resources set up for your class you're teaching, schedule an online appointment.

  • Is the library still teaching classes?

Yes! Our classes have moved online to Teams. The link will be sent to you when you register for the course. Watch out for emails to the bulletin or check the calendar for upcoming classes on Searching, Endnote, and more!

  • Can I donate books, journals, or other physical items to the library?

Physical material donations are not being accepted at this time.

  • Can I check out a laptop?

We have a limited number of laptops for extended loan (until August 7, 2020). While supplies last, USF Health Students may use this form to reserve a time to pick up a laptop from the south entrance of the Shimberg Health Sciences Library.

Please do not come to the library until you have received a confirmation email with detailed instructions. Appointments must be requested at least one hour before your desired appointment time to allow us to prepare for your arrival.

  • I have items checked out from the library. Can I renew or return them?

Items with earlier due dates have already been extended with a new due date of August 7, 2020. This includes laptops and UBorrow items. Contact if you have further questions.

  • Books may be returned to the outdoor book drop south of the library and adjacent to parking lot 30.
  • Laptops that need to be returned (students who are graduating/moving away/taking time off) can be returned using this form.
  • SonoSims borrowed from the Florida Blue Health Knowledge Exchange downtown (does not include SonoSims borrowed from the lab) may also be returned using this form.

Returned items may remain on your record for up to 7 days before being processed, but will be backdated at check-in.
