Library Resources

Library resources available to USF Honors College students fall into three main categories:

  • physical resources within the USF Tampa Library building, including:
    • printed materials (primarily books, journals, and magazines).  Note: You can check out items from the Library's Circulating Collection for up to 30 days, and then renew them online if needed.
    • microform-format materials (primarily historical newspapers, other periodicals, and education-oriented reports)
    • multimedia (including DVDs and CDs)
    • rare or unique items held by the Special and Digital Collections area
    • computers with Microsoft Office software and Internet access, including laptop computers that you can use in the Library by checking it out at the Circulation Desk
    • printers and copiers
    • study spaces, including group study rooms (visit the Circulation Desk to obtain a group study room)
  • online resources available from the USF Libraries website (, including:
    • USF Libraries Catalog, which can be searched to identify items (books, periodical titles, and multimedia) held by the USF Libraries
    • e-books (linked to directly from the Catalog)
    • databases containing full-text of or indexes to journal, magazine, and newspaper articles
  • services, including:
    • reference/research service provided by librarians (face-to-face, phone, email, chat, and text message)
    • consultation appointments with a librarian.  Note: You can make the appointment with the Honors College Librarian, or another librarian listed on the Specialist Librarians page.
    • interlibrary loan (ILL), which you can use to obtain items from other institutions if they are not held by the USF Libraries
    • binding services for the USF Honors Thesis
