Born-Digital Workflow

USF's workflow was designed to support a Digital Initiatives unit that exists within the umbrella of Special Collections, but can be adapted to work with other organizational structures. The cornerstones of these workflows rest on assigning an archivist or curator who will review the content of the born-digital objects for their fit within the archive's Collection Development policy while ensuring they are working collaboratively with a digital curator who can evaluate feasibility and timelines. Throughout the process, donors should be aware of these steps and the status of their collection's approval. As noted in the Born-Digital Special Collections Acquisitions Policy, some review work may not be possible due to the format of the proposed donation.
