Author Profile Overview

Author Profiles are integral to measuring impact and disseminating your creative and academic works. We now have an institutional account with ORCID to better affiliate your individual profile with USF. For more information, contact your USF subject librarian, or submit a request via our Ask-A-Librarian service. We can also assist with information about h-index and other author metrics at your request.

Author Profile Databases

ORCID
ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized. USF is also an institutional member of ORCID and your librarian can help with additional information.
Google Scholar
A simple way to search for scholarly literature. Includes full text and citations. Searching while signed in to the USF Library website can grant wider access to full text.
Scopus
Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books and conference proceedings and features tools to track, analyze, and visualize research.
Web of Science [formerly Web of Knowledge]
The ISI Web of Science provides seamless access to the Science Citation Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index. It enables users to search current and retrospective multidisciplinary information from approximately 8,500 of the most prestigious, high impact research journals in the world. ISI Web of Science also provides a unique search method, cited reference searching.
Academic Analytics: Faculty Insights
USF uses Academic Analytics to allow faculty to find each other, form research networks and compare our programs to our peer list of institutions. The Academic Analytics Database contains scholarly data on over 275,000 faculty members at over 400 US-based research universities. The data includes research grants, honorific awards, articles, books, conference proceedings, and more.
Harzing's Publish or Perish
Publish or Perish is a software program that retrieves and analyzes academic citations. It uses a variety of data sources to obtain the raw citations, then analyzes these and presents a range of citation metrics, including the number of papers, total citations and the h-index.
