Author Profiles are integral to measuring impact and disseminating your creative and academic works. We now have an institutional account with ORCID to better affiliate your individual profile with USF. For more information, contact your USF subject librarian, or submit a request via our Ask-A-Librarian service. We can also assist with information about h-index and other author metrics at your request.
USF uses Academic Analytics to allow faculty to find each other, form research networks and compare our programs to our peer list of institutions. The Academic Analytics Database contains scholarly data on over 275,000 faculty members at over 400 US-based research universities. The data includes research grants, honorific awards, articles, books, conference proceedings, and more.
Google Scholar Profiles provide a simple way for authors to showcase their academic publications. You can check who is citing your articles, graph citations over time, and compute several citation metrics. You can also make your profile public, so that it may appear in Google Scholar results when people search for your name. Please contact your librarian for any questions, or for more information.
Publish or Perish is a software program that retrieves and analyzes academic citations. It uses a variety of data sources to obtain the raw citations, then analyzes these and presents a range of citation metrics, including the number of papers, total citations and the h-index.
ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized. USF is also an institutional member of ORCID and your librarian can help with additional information.
Scopus data follows the simple model that articles are written by researchers who are affiliated with institutions. Powerful algorithmic data processing matches articles to existing author profiles with a high degree of accuracy based on name, email, affiliation, subject area, citations and co-authors. A profile is created automatically when two or more articles are linked to one name. Contact us at the libraries, or go directly to your subject librarian for more information.
This is the author profile feature paired with Clarivate's Web of Science collection of databases and bibliometric tools. It provides another optional tool to raise your visibility in the worldwide research community. Contact us at the libraries, or go directly to your subject librarian for more information.
