Best Practices for Subject/Course/General LibGuides at USF

Course guides that include a course number as part of their URL will automatically be mapped to all sections of that course in Canvas. If there are no course guides for a course, the subject guide for that discipline will map to the course in Canvas. If you would like to map a different subject or course guide to a specific section of a course, follow these steps:

1. Use Canvas to identify the course number and section number. Log into Canvas. Choose Admin, then Oasis Banner

2. Next, choose the term:

3. Choose course or instructor. Copy the SIS ID

4. Open the Libguide in Edit Mode. Click Gear icon, then Guide Metadata

5. Choose the Custom Metadata tab

6. Click Add Record. Under Name, enter canvas.

7. Under Value, enter the course number and section from Canvas
