Media Resources: Images, Video, and Audio

Requesting New Videos for Consideration

The USF Libraries continue to consider faculty requests to purchase individual DVDs and license access to streaming videos on our vendor platforms for current course use.  However, we regret that due to copyright restrictions and digital rights management requirements, the USF Libraries are not able to host individual, one-off videos or films as streaming media.  In order for the Libraries to license access for courses, streaming media must be already hosted on one of the Libraries’ vendor platforms, such as Kanopy, Swank, Films Media Group, Alexander Street Press, or DocuSeek.

Requests for consideration for new or continued access to videos can be made through Course Reserves.  Request early to allow license processing in time for course use.  PLEASE LIMIT REQUESTS FOR NEW CONTENT TO 5 VIDEOS PER COURSE.

Please provide all of the following information when submitting title requests for consideration:

  • Faculty Name
  • Faculty Department
  • Course Numbers (including subject, number, sections, and semester)
  • Title (include identifiers such as: Individual Title, Series Title, Narrator, Director, Producer, year produced, etc.)

Currently available streaming titles or DVDs may be searched by using the Library guides below or by searching the USF Libraries catalog.
