Theresa Burress is an Associate Librarian based on the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus. She is currently liaison librarian to the following academic units on all campuses: College of Marine Science, CAS Mathematics & Statistics, and Honors College. During her time at USF, she has been liaison to a range of STEM-focused areas. She has also worked as a liaison librarian for humanities. Before becoming an academic librarian, Theresa spent more than a decade as Science Librarian for the U.S. Geological Survey’s St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center, where she supported scientific research, scholarly publication, and data-related initiatives. Theresa also co-chaired the annual St. Petersburg Science Festival for many years, a community event where thousands of families explore the wonders of hands-on STEAM and learn about cutting edge science research that is happening across Tampa Bay and beyond.
Theresa's research interests explore the intersections between information literacy with data and digital literacies.
