Project Overview
This LibGuide is the permanent home for the collection of information resources selected by members of the Coastal Area Climate Change Education (CACCE) Partnership.
The CACCE Partnership was funded in 2010 of the NSF's Climate Change Education Partnership (CCEP) program. The Partnership included faculty and investigators from the University of South Florida (USF), the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez (UPRM), the Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS), and the Florida Aquarium in Tampa.
The project focused on the impacts of climate change in coastal areas, with sea level change as a core theme. Targeting formal and informal science educators, students, and lifelong learners, the goals included:
- preparing a new generation of climate scientists, engineers, and technicians;
- preparing the region's citizens to understand global climate change, its impacts, and how to mitigate impact; and
- producing new knowledge about climate change, about preparing students to work on climate-related problems, and about means for effectively engaging the broader community in understanding the issue.
